Theme of the Month: Stories of the Prophets

This November, the theme that we have selected is the Stories of the Prophets. The fourth fundamental article of faith in Islam is belief in all the Prophets.

Islam is not limited to the revelation that was sent to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, but was also the messages of previous prophets.

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” And they say, “We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination.”

(Al-Baqarah 2:285)

Say, [O believers], “We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him.”

(Al-Baqarah 2:136)

Each prophet conveyed the consistent divine message of worshiping one God and living a morally upright life.

Muslims are obligated to believe in and honor all the prophets, and to testify that prophethood has been completed with the coming of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did not bring a new message, but conveyed the same message as previous prophets.

And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, “There is no deity except Me, so worship Me.”

(Al-Anbya 21:25)
